Trump on Monday posted a map depicting North America, Central America, the Caribbean, Greenland and Iceland covered by the Stars and Stripes and labeled &#8220;United States of America.&#8221;</p> <p dir="ltr">The image was published to his Truth Social account without accompanying text. It carried no policy statement or explanation.</p> <p dir="ltr">Iceland&#8217;s inclusion appears to be new. Earlier maps circulated by the president and his allies have shown Greenland, Canada and Venezuela.</p> <p dir="ltr">In a July 31 interview on Real America&#8217;s Voice, Trump was asked about a host&#8217;s prediction that Greenland would be under U.S. operational control before the end of his term. <a href="https://www.arctictoday.com/trump-says-you-can-bet-greenland-will-be-under-us-control/">He said the bet would be a good one</a>, and said Greenland was important from the U.S. standpoint rather than from Greenland&#8217;s.
